We take certain things for granted in life but yet they are important especially where our kids are concern. Recently I overheard someone telling a pregnant woman to always lay her hands on her tummy when she to talk or pray with with her un-baby.
It sounded so funny, she laughed and ask how can the baby in the womb understand when she speaks but a few days later, she came around sounding so excited about trying out what my neighbour suggested and how each time the baby responds with an excited leap in her stomach.
Indeed it is never too early to introduce kids to good ways, for it is written “train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will never depart from it”. this is indeed true.
When my baby was just a year old and grand ma came to visit, we started a nightly ritual of praying before bed time. I will hug him close and pray with him before he sleeps each night and in the morning, I will kneel close to his bed and pray before lifting him out of bed.
Today years later, it has stuck to us that he calls for prayers before bed and even remind me of prayer points or scriptures for bedtime.
Kids are never too young to learn, start them early and it will stick to their memory. Some of my best times, special meals are those I was taught by mum to prepare. They have stuck to my memory and are my special pass down family recipes. Teach kids early and you would be glad you did.
