The words that comes from the mouth of this generation kids sometimes puzzles me, it shows the gap between my generation and theirs. I don’t know if most mothers notice it in their kids too. Can you imagine a four year old taking responsibility for a fart by his dad, saying he does not want to hurt his dad’s feelings by creating the awareness that his dad farted.
Oh! my God, I had the laugh of my life. Yes thats it, so wise for their little age. My kid and his cousin were in the car with us this day going shopping. Then my kid told his cousin that I was going to have a baby sister for him soon. Then my little six year old niece told my kid that well they need to discuss how they were going to tell the little sister when she comes about their relationship. That she was my son’s best cousin and sister, so the baby won’t be jealous.
I and her mum could not believe our ears,. Really! baby jealous of who? Thats what today’s kids are all about. Smart talkers, ready to roll words out any minute, go getters, you name it.
Went to a birthday party the other day, saw kids between the ages of eight to ten all gather together discussing their exploit on you tube. There were these group of kids among them, that were so very certain they were producing contents earning dollars on youtube. A particular mum became so interested that she asked them to show her kids what they were doing. They kept boosting of their exploit, while the other mum was irritated that her kids who were the same age could do nothing.
Some how I became interested in this conversation, so I asked the leader to kindly open his channel let me see is content that was moving so much viewers to generate income. When this kid opened his channel, I found he had only 10 views highest and only seven subscription. I was so surprised then he told it was his sister earning and their mum’s attention was called to this all discussion. Their mum logged into the daughter’s channel, it was same thing.
I had to inform the other mum that these kids were not earning from youtube because they need 1000 subscribers and one million views to get paid by youtube. On further questioning, I discovered to every one surprise that they have been buying cartoons and other games from youtube because their parents set up their tablets without skipping including their bank cards.
What a shock, we all had. We id have a good laugh, seeing that the other mum felt are kids were not smart enough but after we discovered the truth, she was grateful they were not into the youtube gig. Indeed todays kid is one hand-full of a kid, we need to be watchful and keep an eye on their every activity at all times, especially when they are online.
