I have had my son call me so many names of appreciation ever since he could speak, from being the best cook in the whole world to the best mum, super hero mum, best singing mum, best friend in the whole world, just naming but some few.
I know many mums can relate to this and I would not sacrifice these glorious titles and cuddly hugs that goes with them not for a million bucks or all the wealth in the world, Yes! I know it takes and drains a lot of energy from every mum out their cooking, cleaning and meeting the needs of the kids but when at moments when they appreciate with endearing titles like the ones mention above, nothing but smiles comes to every mums face.
Its not all glorious or sweet endearing, there are trying moments being a mum like the one I had this week but it is the end that melted my heart today. With the winter here, every mum tries to make sure kids are dressed warm to school. Snow pants, jackets, boots, scarves, mittens or gloves, for the kids to be out this season playing outside even in school.
Monday, this week I got the shocker of my life when my little guy returned with his winter jacket, snow pant and gloves messed up with dirt. This I understand was because the little snow that fell Sunday night left the ground dirty and of course the kids decided it was good for them to play soccer on the dirty ground.
Immediately I saw him, off the bathroom I sent him. Stripping the snow pants, jackets and gloves and sending them to the basement to the washing machine. It was indeed so messy but I had a spare set which I packed up for the next day for him. Well, did my little man not return again at the end of the day with the snow pant soiled? Yes, he did but thank God it was only the pant but I still had the previous unwashed and the third set I had were too large a size which I voiced out.
After he slept, I had to clean the pant. He woke up this morning and was like “oh mum what do I do with snow pant today? I brought out his snow pants cleaned and ready for him and that was when I got my new titled “Fixer mum” “mum you are the best fixer mum in the whole wide world , I knew you could and would do something”
Hmmm! who says I won’t move the mountains for these endowments, just try me. Fixer mum, super hero, best friend, best mum, best chef/cook, best partner, tell me who doesn’t like praises or appreciation. I do and every mum does and just like he does I too have my titles for him.; little man, great guy, handsome, mum’s love etc. These little ones they sure make us not to feel the stress of all the work we do, don’t they ?
